I was an Airman Basic when I was first arrived at Wethersfield. Stationed at Wethersfield between 1980 to 1984, then came back in 1988 to be one of the last NCO's to leave the base after closing, because I was NCOIC Airfields tool room in 1990. The base was closed one month before the first gulf war. I then moved to Bentwaters-Woodbridge for the remainder of my tour, which interned closed a year after I returned to the states.

I arrived in December of 1985. I worked at the Red Horse Heavy Equipment Repair shop with Mike Wintz, Earndawg, Larry Chard, Roger Carstensen, and many more that I am sure you know. I have been trying to organize a reunion, but haven't succeeded as time always seems to get away from me. I left UK in Jan of 1987. I still keep in touch with most of the guys. I am still looking for a few more that I have lost contact with. I just stumbled onto this site today, but I will make sure others from the 80's know about it also. My name is Kelly Iiams btw. The guys in the shop called me Kel-dawg. Never could figure that one out.

Hi I am Melissa Quinn (Hunter-Greco). I was a military dependant at RAF Wethersfield back in 85-87. My Dad Frank Greco worked for the civil engineer department. Wethersfield was the best time in my life. I was a student in 6th than 7th grade there. I have many friends that I still keep in touch with and their parents that would love to have a reunion. I will email them this web site and maybe we could have a wonderful turnout. Let me know how much it would cost per person to make this reunion happen. Take care and hope to hear from someone. Melissa
